Preparing you for the ever-evolving world of global business, on our Business Management degree you’ll gain a solid understanding of firms and their behaviour, focusing on areas that interest you most.
Our world class research is improving society’s understanding of business and driving policy and practice. Staff, who regularly work with SMEs, startups and government organisations like the Welsh Government, Eryri National Park Authority and tenants at the Menai Science Park, will share valuable insights into the latest trends in your subject area.
Guest lectures from current practitioners further your knowledge of corporate culture and contemporary market challenges. Previous speakers, for example, have included COOs, HR directors, training/development managers, and senior executives from global banks, brands and businesses like Virgin Clubhouse, Costa Coffee and Amazon.
Across the public and private sector, organisations need individuals who can be resilient, creative, innovative, and quick to recognise commercial values and opportunities. That’s why, within Bangor Business School, we place a strong emphasis on your professional development and practical experiences.
You’ll study real organisations in order to gain strong business acumen and knowledge of management processes and practice, organisation theory and the global business environment.
Whether you want to work in large private organisations, the public sector or start up your own business, this BSc (Hons) Business Management builds a comprehensive knowledge of business.
The programme covers public, private and not-for-profit organisations of various sizes, scope and structure; both their management and the external environment in which they operate. Key topics include leadership, sustainability, innovation, marketing, operations, HR management, strategy, new venture creation, financial and risk management, adapting to change and e-business.
Throughout your studies, you will engage with business and industry in some way, shape or form. Internships and placements are a fantastic way to build networks and gain valuable work experience.
Within Bangor Business School, we also invite people to inspire you, sharing their experiences of setting up their own businesses and social enterprises. You’ll have opportunities to hear from experts within the school and visiting speakers on issues such as resource poverty, new venture creation and brand value co-creation.
Interactive case studies give you the chance to work within groups to analyse and solve issues facing a company. These sessions are a great way to develop your entrepreneurial, critical thinking, problem-solving and teamworking skills.
Balancing your personal and professional life while pursuing higher education doesn’t have to be a dream. At Bangor University, many of our undergraduate degrees are available part time.
How Does Part-Time Study Work?
- Part-time students attend the same classes as their full-time peers, but typically with a reduced weekly timetable. This allows you to engage fully in the learning experience, collaborate with fellow students, and access all university resources.
- Unlike full-time study, which is usually completed in three years, part-time students can spread their degree programme over a longer duration, usually up to seven years.
What Are The Benefits of Part-Time Study?
- Continue Working: Maintain your career and income while gaining valuable qualifications.
- Maintain Personal Commitments: Balance your studies with family life and other responsibilities.
- Personal and Professional Growth: Gain new skills, knowledge, and confidence to advance your career or pursue new opportunities.
Is There Financial Support Available?
Depending on various factors, including whether you’ve studied a higher education course before, your age, and your nationality or residency status, you may be eligible for government-funded student loans to cover tuition fees and living costs.
Our Student Finance team can help you navigate the application process and understand your entitlements.
